I just received an unsolicited call from a recruiter at Knowledgent. I am not even really interested in management consulting, but am looking to move out of a back office finance/accounting role.
Does anyone know anything about this firm? I assume it is lower tier due to the way I was contacted but thought I would check with you guys to see if this might be a worthwhile opportunity.

I went to the event so I though I would share some info in case anyone else is interested...
Basically, the managment team (some of whom were at the event) are on their 5th consulting company- each of the previous 4 have grown pretty rapidly then been acquired by larger firms (2 that I know of are TRECOM Business Systems and BusinessEdge Solutions). Wholly owned by management. Knowledgent started up about 18 mos ago with ~20 employees. Right now they are just under 200 and recruiting. The focus is on financial services primarily but there is also some focus on life sciences. Any industry expansion would probably be into communications. Geographically, most clients are NY/NJ based (since the focus is on financials, including some of the BB's) but they just opened an office in Boston to focus on AMs and are doing work in Toronto (no idea what specifically for). A lot of the consultants were IBM transplants or had worked at previous firms under the same management team. Others were from industry backgrounds. I can't really comment on the caliber of the consulting practice or comp/benefits/mobility/exit opps/etc. since this was just a mixer.
Hope this helps for anyone interested. For what it's worth the people were amiable and the drinks were flowing at a pretty good pace.
