KPMG Corporate Finance

I've searched through the forum about KPMGCF but I wanted to get more information about the firm. I know that KPMG Corporate Finance is the ibanking arm of KPMG, and is #1 in transaction volume, although handling smaller deals.

What I want to know is if anyone has any insights on the culture at that firm, and more specifically, information about the hours and compensation. Im assuming there would be less hours and lower pay than most banks, but does anyone have any experience or know anyone who worked at the firm. Any insights as to the recruiting/hiring process?

Also, what direction do you think KPMGCF is headed in the future, do you think they will expand and try to work on bigger deals or maintain a MM focus? How would you rank the firm in terms of prestige and quality?

Thanks

I wored at KPMG corp fi in Aust for a few years. The experience there is good and well regarded, even though you're generally working on smaller deals.

The main office is London, which does a lot of deals, and some quite large ones. The size of the deals is going to vary a lot according to the market you're in, and I think they're fairly small in the US.

The culture is fairly laid back, and the hours are not as bad as IB, but you'll still have to put in the work (great balance if you're considering study, like CFA).

The pay is a lot less than IB, which eventually became the downside for me after I'd finished CFA, but it was fairly easy to transfer to BB, at least in this market!
