Landing post graduate job.

Hello Monkeys:

I am currently a senior majoring in finance and minoring in information design and corporate communications at a top B-School in the northeast. Over the last 4 years, I have interned at a two different firms. For both summers of sophomore and junior year, I interned at a MNE in the mass media industry performing an international taxation and legal role. In these experiences, I developed my skills with respect to conducting research on region specific tax legislation and implementation, valuation of patents and potential acquisitions targets, and financial reporting. Additionally, they allowed me to gaining exposure to cross-border mergers, global transactions, and due diligence. During the fall of my junior year, I worked at a small search fund in an unpaid internship for about 7 months. This experience primarily dealt with companies in the software industry.

I have applied to several different firms in the financial services industry, but I am not limited to targeting only this industry. Ideally, I am targeting a company that prioritizes sustainability and values intellectual and professional growth. I would like to hear some advice from anyone who has experience breaking into a finance role in any industry. Please feel free to post. Any advice is very valuable. Thanks in advance.

Note: GPA 3.3, Experience with financial modeling, data analytics, etc.
Interest: real estate, financial analyst, corp. dev., and project management, consulting/advisory roles.
Target Area: Greater NYC, CT
