Languages Major - Recommended Trading Prep
Hello everyone,
Whilst I realise that there's probably 300 threads about this subject somewhere in the depths of WSO, I couldn't find any having used the search function.
While there's a load of threads about general S&T prep, what I was wondering was the general level of technical knowledge non-science/maths/finance majors would probably need to have when going for S&T (specifically trading) BB FT interviews.
I've seen people being quizzed about CDS pricing and volatility swaps at SA interviews, and some people getting almost pure fit questions at FT interviews.
I've never taken a university-level maths or finance class before (though my maths is quite strong for an arts major). So the question is: Is it worth it for a non-science student like me reading through Hull & Natenberg over the holidays and trying to understand black-scholes/Ito's lemma/options and swap pricing, or will I be shooting myself in the foot by mentioning it in the interview (i.e. would it be better not to mention anything technical and just pitch a stock of two)?
All help appreciated :)
