Late to the game, Am I on the right path? (Questions inside)

I'm a senior at a non-target looking to get into IB. I know I'm late to the game but I would appreciate any clarification if I am on the right path or not. I had a internship this past summer at a REIT and I'm not sure if this helps or hurts me. I was planning on trying to get a fall and spring internship at a boutique IB near me. I had a few questions about the process.

  1. Should I just go for an IB internship or should I try for PE as well? (Around 75 boutique IB's near me and around 200 PE firms)

  2. Should I attach my resume to my first email or not? I've read multiple posts on WSO that support both views and I'm not entirely sure which to follow.

  3. Is it possible and should I try to get a summer internship next year even though I will have already graduated?

  4. Is it worth delaying my graduation for another semester, even though I missed recruiting?

So for this semester my plan is as follows, network to get a fall IB internship (ideally) > network at internship > try for a full time offer either there or somewhere else > if no full time offer get a spring internship > try for a full time offer there or elsewhere > then?? (Sort of lost on this step)

Any feedback/opinions/critiques are much appreciated.
