I recently went through a handful of interviews on zoom for IB. I wore a suit for each one.. well the top half of a suit anyways.
i haven't been wearing a suit...
Suit with tie or no tie?
Yeah wear a suit, makes a difference especially since most people will be lazy. Maybe no tie, but I think for a BB you want to.
I don’t think people would take it negatively (trying too hard) and it definitely helps. Especially if others are which a decent proportion do.
However, like most small things it’ll be barely noticeable overall and won’t make or break anything.
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not.
Had a Zoom interview with a boutique and the guy literally laughed at me for wearing a suit the fuckin dick
During one of my interviews..dude laughed and asked why I’m wearing a tie. Everyone else didn’t ask. That asshole
How boutique was the boutique? Like Guggenheim, Stifel, Lincoln or like Tobin&Co.? To provide context, this will be in Houston. Please advise on how I should dress, I don't want to get ding for not fitting into the culture.
Wearing a suit is much safer.
I didn't wear suits for several interviews I was in during June/July, wanted to appear casual and laid-back. I have already been in the industry for a while, having said that, if you (besides OP) are a student or professional in other industries, wear a suit prob better.
Just treat these like in-person interviews. None of your etiquette should change just because you're on zoom. Worst case the interviewer is in a t-shirt but at least you showed up looking prepared.
I’ve worn a suit each time. Better safe than sorry. I’ve never had anyone make fun of me or anything for wearing it but have had a few people comment that they appreciate that I wore a suit and that it was an extra boost in their eyes. My interviewers have always been in t shirts but better to be more formal than less formal in my opinion
Tie or no tie?
