Lateral or Recruit for Buyside?

I'm currently a second year analyst within a specialized industry-focused MM investment bank. I started off-cycle in January, so I would essentially be finishing up 1.5 years by this summer. The bank that I work for is a well known firm, but I'm starting to worry that the specialized nature of my job may hurt me in terms of buyside recruiting. My bonus is coming up this summer, and I'm wondering if the best move for me would be to lateral to another investment bank within a different industry vertical (either stay in MM or move up to BB) or perhaps recruit for buyside gigs. I have had some recruiters contact me regarding buyside opportunities, but none really within the industry that I currently work in. I'm worried that I'll be at a disadvantage relative to my peers just because of my industry expertise (i.e., interviewing against a tech banker for a tech PE fund position). Has anyone been in this situation before? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
