Lateral Post-Interview Question

I know I know, yet another post-interview question. Sorry guys. I guess when you're in the hot seat things feel noticeably different. I searched around quite a bit, but the majority of HR/interview/offer posts are about the FT normal cycle recruiting process. In my case this was for an off-cycle lateral analyst position so that may change the scenario a little bit.

Anyway, I went through a final round interview for a non-BB, still a large bank, lev fin position last Thursday and have not heard back. The interview went pretty well and has left me scratching my head as to why it's been radio silence since. I emailed the HR recruiter this Wednesday and have not received a response.

Here's where it gets interesting. I'm going to a party this weekend for the daughter of an MD that I interviewed with in the first round. We knew each other before I interviewed with his bank. I'm running the different scenarios through my head and see a couple of different ways this pans out:

A) MD: "Kingtut, great to see you again. Sorry things didn't work out"
Sober Kingtut: "I totally understand and I appreciate the opportunity"
Drunk Kingtut: "Yeah, you have a great HR department. I really appreciate the cold shoulder from your firm especially after I took two days off to interview with you guys you fucking douche"

B) MD: "We're still in the interview process"
Kingtut: "Ok. We'll please keep me in mind and I am definitely still interested in the position blah blah blah"

C) MD: "I wanted to wait and tell you in person that we want you aboard"
Kingtut: "Great! Let's fucking rage"

I'm definitely going to talk to the MD and I am tired of waiting and just want a straight answer. It's like pulling teeth with bankers sometimes.
