lateral recruiting--why won't HR get back to me?
I am in the process of trying to interview for lateral analyst positions in IB. There is one firm that has several open positions to my knowledge, and the person overseeing lateral recruiting will not get back to me. I work for a good firm now and have the relevant experience. Also went to a good school, graduated phi beta kappa.
why am i getting no traction at this firm (and others)? it's kinda frustrating...thoughts/advice would be appreciated.
Its easier to contact a decision maker directly or better, the hiring manager. Either search through LinkedIn or existing working lists on recent transactions. Also, if you have friends working internally, have them help you. Sometimes your resume just gets lost at sea, no fault of your own.
what if i don't know anyone in the group? ok to reach out to non-alumni via linkedin>
Just get in contact with HR and tell them that you have not heard anything yet. Be very friendly to them and they will do the same to you!
