Lateral to BB IB from Strategy consulting?
Hey all. I'm about to start my analyst gig at a strategy consulting firm like Strategy&/EYP/OW, and I wanted to know how hard (or easy) is it to lateral to IB at the associate level without going an MBA. Either a BB or EB. Thanks!
We had one guy from S& with 2years full time + msc in cambridge coming as an off cycle to my BB
Anyways know some people from OW lateraling which usually lose 1-2years of seniority
Yes I think networking will be helpful, maybe the most important aspect.
I worked at one of the firms you mentioned and had both a Moelis and Evercore lateral offer at different points
Nice! At what level in consulting did you get those offers. And how did you do it, if it is not too much to ask?
Did you take the offers? If so, why or why not? Curious to hear your thought process as obviously those are two very enticing EB offers.
Yes, it can be done (have seen it myself) but there are some things to consider:
Thanks for the advice here. I'm trying to stay at my job for at least 2 years and get experience in PE (CDD/FDD) and then later to IB. Is this a good plan?
