Lateralling to IB from ER

Hey guys,

Long time lurker here (thank you to this forum for the career in finance) looking for some advice. I am a top-performing ER associate on a #1 II ranked team in the broader CME sector (not going to be more specific than that) with 2 years of experience  looking to move IMMEDIATELY to banking as I am very unhappy with the strategic direction of my firm and the compensation afforded to me through these very busy times. Looking for thoughts from those who have done it themselves and others who have advice on where my weak spots will be (I suspect modelling will be #1).

Any ideas on what I should study up on and how I should approach this? Should I start reaching out to VPs+ to network immediately? Apologies for typos as I am currently extremely drunk. Thank you.
