Law Career - am I approaching this the right way?
Hey folks,
I am hoping to pursue a law career in the US. I've read the books, the blogs and the websites. Law school in the US is damn expensive and not worth it unless you go to a T-14 school. I happen to be lucky and have dual citizenship with the UK, where the cost of legal training is much lower.
Once I finish my degree next year, my plan is to do a UK training contract (a competitive grad scheme where a law firm will pay for my 2 years of UK law school and then employ me for two years), and then I'd like to move to the US to pursue an LL.M before getting a job at a US firm (presumably sitting the Bar somewhere in between).
How feasible is this as a long-term career goal? Is it easy to get a legal job in the US with just an LLM from a US law school?
Any advice would be appreciated.
