League Tables - Everyone has a different take

This is really geared more towards MM banks. Does number of deals really mean anything when it comes to ranking banks or is it best to just look at banks on pure deal size? I know just about every bank lists themselves as number one in ...(insert some weird cut of a league table), but does this really mean anything when it comes to a banks quality?

Also are there any awards that actually mean anything in this industry? I know there are some shit banks that I see win deal of the year from some organization I have never heard of.
