Leaving a bank immediately for a better offer? Need advice
Hi all--
I recently graduated from a non-target and have just resigned from my first job which was pretty much a placeholder at a PWM shop for 6 months. Through networking and passing CFA Level I senior year I got an offer from a local boutique bank which I have obviously accepted and am scheduled to start soon.
Here is my dilemma: I just got called in for an interview for a similar spot at an undoubtedly better bank which I am confident I can get from a connection in management. I am definitely more interested in this group but the call came after I accepted the offer at the boutique to get out of PWM (can you blame me).
My question is...Should I revoke my acceptance of the offer before I start at the boutique bank if I am confident (but not sure) I could get the offer or wait till I have definitely been extended an offer from the better bank and quit then? Neither banks are brand names but as I said earlier the firm I am interviewing for is definitely more respected and I would be more interested in working for them.
Any help is appreciated.
Why would you quit before you have the job that’s idiotic. Interview with the new firm, if you get the job quit your current company and if not you still have a job. The lack of common sense on here sometimes.
