Legal alien... From Paris to NYC

After a SA in M&A in London I'm now interning in M&A with a leading French bank in Paris.

I've been trying to get a foot in the Wall Street scene for some time now (I'm an American with a French "target" education)... How should I go about this? Should I apply through my French bank's branches? (showing interest in the States already cost me a graduate position in the UK...)
Would American BBs ever choose my profile over someone from an American target?

Thank you kindly

^^^^^ Maybe because they are very good / experience another culture / nice looking French girls?. In regard to the question, how did it costed you a graduate position? I know a french guy that started in the US in a french bank FT 2 years prior to going back to London, I dont know why wouldnt you be able to do the same given you are originally from there.
