Letter of recommendations for MSF programs

I plan on applying to five programs (WUSTL, Wake, Duke, Nova, Vandy). That should be about ten letters of recommendation that I need. Would you suggest finding ten different people or would a lesser number (even two) suffice?

Why not just have two people right you a general recommendation. I mean you don't need them to be specific. They are just talking about your work accomplishments, personal qualities, etc.

ANT, I am thinking of skipping Wake, since they seem to focus more so towards liberal arts graduates. Are UTA's and UF's programs worth it? Any others you would recommend looking at? Thank you!

I mean UF and UTA are both great programs, as are a bunch of others. The question is how many apps do you want to work through. And these programs have major differences which should be important to you.

UTA is going to give you the most opportunities in Texas. If that isn't ok with you then why apply. Duke is a great program, but in the same vein as the Wake Forest program. Are you looking for core finance as a career or are you more into a wide variety of career possibilities.

Have you visited or plan on visiting any of these campuses? Philly and Nashville are two different cities and vibes. You might prefer one over the other.

So in short, apply to those programs if you want, they are all good. But you should focus on programs you fit with and want to go to more importantly.

depends on if you're applying to a school of your current tier. Can't imagine somebody says NO if you're MIT-bound at a non-target.... if that happens it's pretty stupid. If you're in-between the same tier (WUSTL to Vandy or Vandy to WUSTL) then I'd think twice about strategies.

besides professor letters don't work as well as employer rec's. MSF is a Professional master, not prep for academic PhDs

i would be applying to a higher tier program than my alma mater's. Isn't it also true that the MSF is meant for people with little to no work experience, so their options are limited when it comes to employer recs? Is it frowned upon to get two letters of rec from different people from the same internship? the internship is relevant to my post-MSF goals, if that makes a difference
