Preparation for leveraged finance internship

Hi everybody. I just got offered an internship in leveraged finance-loan syndication. I was wondering if you knew any books or things I could do to lessen the steep learning curve that probably awaits me.

Thanks in advance!

I worked in LevFin so PM me if you need details. The typical work in levfin is very technical and, in my experience, void of mindless work like pitchbook composition (I never worked on a single pitchbook within my levfin group).

You'll be dealing with the deal structuring side of the investment bank and will be regularly tested with models. lbo models are key and your capability in this area will set you apart from others. They are rather comprehensive, so mastering LBO models would give you the skills necessary to work on nearly all other models. In terms of concepts, understand how a typical levfin deal is put together and the key participants (you'll probably work closely with syndication, so study that area).

In my opinion, you'll be properly trained during your internship. No worries.
