Trying to break into corp dev as an equity research analyst but not sure how to do it as i've never worked in IB - no transactions or M&A under my belt.

Corp dev isn't rocket science but i'm not sure how to best leverage my equity research background.

Any advice would be dynamite!

I don't have any direct experience with this move. But I've seen resumes where a person had previous research experience and ended up in a Corp dev type role. It's seems like it's typically been at the more senior level when a person has 10 plus years of experience. I'd say in general larger companies might have more strict ib/pe background requirement whereas smaller companies may give you a look if you have some type of industry expertise that would be useful.

Currently being in ER it's a move I've considered as well. So anybody with more direct experience in this area that could comment would be helpful.
