Leveraging my experience - exit strategy into management consulting
I need help with transitioning into management consulting – Quick reference of my background below
-
Graduated with 3.9 A.A.S Degree in Accounting - landed an internship at a mid grade CPA firm - misery on everyone's face scared me out of staying in accounting
-
Started an engineering program graduated 4.0 A.A.S in Mech Engineering - recruited by GM - 5 year stint - will not go back
-
Left GM to manage a tech school - opportunity to combine Accounting and Engineering - 5-year stint
• During 5 year stint Accreditation committee hires me part time to consult for them and lead accreditation evaluation teams in region (evaluate finances-equipment- curriculum and implement POA to improve deficiencies) - work is sporadic once per quarter -
School program gets cut - unemployed - recruiters say overqualified or experience req. met but no degree credentials
-
Decided to go back to school in September - Management consulting is the goal
Will Bachelors degree in Finance and Accounting Management help my transition? If so what level will i enter?
It will take 1.5 - 2 years to finish this program. What job should I secure now that will help my transition?
