Leveraging Part-Time MBA for more internship experience?
I'm aware full-time programs are meant for career switchers and taking advantage of on-campus recruiting. I'm currently in a part-time MBA program at a target school (Stern), where we do not get some of the on-campus recruiting as FT-ers. I chose this program because it was cheaper and I wasn't sure what area of finance I wanted to pivot to. I also have some connections to a few people at BBs and boutiques to pull my resume during recruiting. They said being PT is usually not a problem and they see it all the time, but I'm Interested to hear others opinion on this strategy/thinking:
-
Leveraging PT MBA program to get a variety of internships over the course of 2-3 years

I have the option to do a 'PT' fast track and finish in two years. But can pick fewer classes or load up on classes each semester. The decision is at my discretion. For example, try to land a part-time internship during off-cycle and take fewer classes, or load up on classes to full-time states (which is an option at Stern). I obviously would be recruiting on my own for summer internships as well.

This will give me the opportunity to see which role I want to be in and also leave solid experience on my resume.
Sure this can all take longer but I am okay with that. I think it will be much more beneficial to get experience in various areas especially if I'm networking and have connections.
The only difference I'm seeing between part-time and full-time at Stern is the recruiting process, where they hold your hand through the process. You are basically paying more for recruiting during a full-time.
