LevFin vs. Structured Finance groups

Hi all,

I am holding an offer to start a rotational grad programme at a top European bank next September in London, which will have the opportunity to rotate in Structured Finance, which is something that I'm quite excited about.

Over the past few months, I have become more interested in LevFin & I was wondering whether it is possible to move from a Structured Finance role to a role in LevFin? If so, at what point in your career (earlier the better? A internal transfer perhaps?). I think that both are similar in the sense that both require financial modelling & perhaps any others?

I know that someone who works at an SF team needs to know the underlying asset very well indeed.

Thank you!
