I'm not a rules expert, but my understanding was that Max was ahead in the turn and therefore had right of way to the racing line, and he left Hamilton more that one car's width of room.  Even if that characterization is off, evidently the stewards agreed that Hamilton was predominantly at fault.

I don't think he did it maliciously - they were racing hard and the incident happened in the blink of an eye - but how Hamilton conducted himself after the race, after nearly killing someone, was shameful.

Not sure about the steward's call although they probably know better than me. For me they were very close coming into the corner and Max turned in presumably to get closer to the apex expecting Hamilton to yield to avoid a crash. I think that's kind of reckless and you have to be mindful of the space other cars are occupying and not rely on them yielding to avoid an accident. Verstappen also had a lot more space on the outside.

I do agree Hamilton did not show due concern or solemnity after the race which was thoroughly unlikable. I suspect he dislikes Verstappen quite a bit lol. Rooting for Max to win the championship.

Max, lacks discipline in and out of a car. Remember when he mouthed off about Ferrari? That cost him a lot. He is not Alonso, so his mouth cannot cash that cheque.

immensely respect Hammy but should've been a stop-go penalty. 10secs doesn't do justice (neither does the insufferably biased sky sports commentary)

This.  Max was aggressive, but he had the line.  Hammy was going to miss the apex and still pushed further anyways.  Once he realized he didn't have the line its on him to slow his speed and let Max in.

Max and RB's frustration after the race was warranted too IMO.  The gap they had in both championships was obliterated in one race.

Lmao that’s pretty funny considering exactly one week ago the English fans destroyed Saka and Rashford after their shitty side lost the Euro. Then they proceed to cheer after Max hits the wall. Talk about an absolute classless group of fans. If they want to complain about people getting mad at Lewis for ruining Max’s race, they can f right off.

me and you mate - hope mattia builds a winning car for '22

side note - ferrari's recovery from last year's shitshow to being competitive again hasn't been talked about enough, but obviously wouldn't expect much from the amateur "pundits" at sky sports

That's how Verstappen races. Very often putting people in "back out or crash" situations just like that. Literally been known to do it for years. Just got a taste of his own medicine - should've backed out. Or given more room.

Excuse me but I beg to differ, Max, was in the wrong. Lewis, got ten seconds penalty and still won the race. Max, has never really had a cool head just look at his past races in and out of f1.

fuck max. dude is a homewrecker. no respect for ppl like that. hope he never wins the WC

If you no longer go for a gap that exists, you are no longer a racing driver. - Senna

Just watched the clip as someone that knows less than nothing about F1 and genuinely don’t see why this is Hamilton’s fault.  Sure he moved to block but looks to me like he had the inside and the other driver should have been yielding.  You can’t just make a right hand turn into someone and expect them to slam on the brakes no?  Seems like good aggressive driving to me?

Again I don’t know the rules of F1..

according to the FIA rulebook, HAM was in the wrong. He didn’t hit the apex going into the corner.
