Lied and got the offer, am I screwed?
Hi everyone. I had an Spring Week interview for a BB(1) and I was asked if I had applied to other Spring Weeks. I said that I hadn't, but I already had accepted an offer for another Spring Week at another BB(2) (which is more like an online event and I didn't have to do any interviews). I have now received an offer for BB(1). Should I worry?? Thanks in advance
As far as I know, there is no data sharing agreement between BBs for spring week applicants.
Hope you didn't sign any non-compete agreements.
Is there any data sharing agreement at the analyst level then?
Our HR team tracks key people in their own database, some leak through new hires, some through searches or LinkedIn. I don't think analysts are tracked though. This is more for our people leaving and not abiding by gardening leave.
No, I have not. For BB(2) I haven't had to sign a contract, just the code of conduct, NDA and Privacy policy. For BB(1), I am waiting for the formal offer letter. Theoretically, would I be able to accept both offers, right?
as long as you don't share any information of either company to the other, I don't see any problems. read the contracts again and look for any issues.
Don’t worry about it
So should I be able to accept both offers?
Yes. Aren’t they just “intro to banking infomercials?” You’ll be fine
If I were you I would be ready to not drop the soap
Hahahaha What do you mean by this?
You poor innocent soul
Hahaha I know perfectly what I means (usually happens in jail...), but I don't understand how it fits in this context
*sigh* he's saying what you did was so bad you might go to jail
Better start watching Inside the World's Toughest Prisons on Netflix to prepare
If its Online for both you can do both at the same time as long as it is not really interactive
The dates aren't even coincidental. The thing is that in the interview I was asked whether I had applied to other SW and I was nervous and said no
Don't over think it they won't remember - if you are scared just keep it off linkedin.
Note thought that this is a stupid answer - because you are either lying or an idiot for only applying to 1 firm.
As long as they don't overlap, it literally doesn't matter. They probably knew you were lying as soon as you said you didn't apply anywhere else.
In the future, the correct answer is "yes but i prefer your bank because XYZ"
Thanks!! So I should not say anything, right?
No. Don't admit you lied that would be stupid.
You are completely overthinking how important this is or how much anyone cares about you in particular. There's no advantage to telling them directly.
Dude for all they know you applied to the other spring week the day after your interview, and luckily got accepted. Just keep your mouth shut and be stoked to go to 2 spring weeks. Hell, if there are more SWs with non-overlapping dates then you should apply to those too - it never hurts to have options available to you
Nice one. I will do that. Thanks!
