Linkedin Stalking: Ever Make You Feel Like Crap?

I'm pretty happy with my SA experience so far, but taking a quick spin through Linkedin Profiles of people from my school (which I thought was a non-target, not much OCR), it feels like EVERYONE is in FO at BBs (mostly for SA, though a few for FT). Is this just selection bias (i.e. people with the best jobs trumpet them the most on Linkedin)?

What gives?

Anyone else ever feel inadequate after a Linkedin session?

prob is a bias, but still made me feel like shit when I was a junior lol just be happy where you are and keep working hard to get to where you want to be

I don't throw darts at a board. I bet on sure things. Read Sun-tzu, The Art of War. Every battle is won before it is ever fought- GG

for me it goes both ways. Sometimes i see people that i knew that graduated a few years ago and im shocked with how little they are doing with their life. Then sometimes i look at people in Goldman TMT, or Mckinsey, or Disney Corp Strategy and i hate seeing how flawless their background is. The real pain is just matching a face to the job. Looking at the profile and thinking..that guy..thats the fucking guy that has the job i want..

One thing with LinkedIn is that those in your class who don't really care about career and networking don't even know what it is. Therefore, there's a natural bias towards more experienced users than the average university group.

But yes, it sometimes make me feel a bit stressed...

Being an analyst in consulting or in corp dev in a big company is not impressive to anyone but a few college kids so no reason to be bitter here It's not like we're talking Dan Loeb, Julian Robertson or Larry David...

Then this is all you need to worry about. You'll always find someone with "more" who you'll assume is happier. Most of my high school friends have less angst than all of you here, and most of them didn't even go to college.
"I don't know how to explain to you that you should care about other people."
