[Shared Economy] Those living in big cities, how do you get around?
Sharing economy is changing the way we live. Companies like Airbnb, Car2Go, shared bike system, Getaround, and others are changing the concept of ownership. For example you can now rent out your idle vehicle on Getaround and collect $$. For me personally, I don't own a car and use Uber to get around. However, I am considering leasing a car and renting my car out though. For those of you who live in big cities, do you own a car? How do you get around?
In New York, the taxi has been around since almost forever, so has the trolley,elevated train, and subway. Uber is just another form of taxi. So answer is walk, uber/taxi, subway.

For those living in a NYC or SF, how do you gets get by with ~$90k base salary?
I think $90k puts out something slightly north of $2k every two weeks. This means that if you're rent is $2k/month not including utilities, you basically have $500/week to break even. When considering expenses like public transportation, utilities, food, dry cleaning, minimal spend on entertainment, it seems REALLY tight on budget.
Clearly if things are too tough, it's time to find a cheaper place to rent first and foremost. But how do you guys living in big cities with similar base salaries budget your moola?
