London Gyms
Where do London finance guys go to the gym? Equinox? Third space? This is of course ignoring the fact that most of them might not have time to actually utilize their memberships.

Have membership at RAC, I just go there (work in PE so near to office).
How are the facilities? Tempted to join for squash but heard it’s a bit of a social club for old retired men.
Lots of people at my firm go to Barry's (not really a gym tho)
I tried Virgin, a bit overpriced but acceptable.
PureGym is a bit pedestrian, but ok if nearby. And cheap.
Equinox is pricey, and doesn't have a large network.
Outside of London DavidLloyd is good.
Work by Fenchurch Street, most go to the Third Space there, about £180 a month. There’s an Equinox close to Bank Station which is about £220 a month that a few of my colleagues go to also
The best gym is the one that's closes and most convenient. No point trying to pursue "gym prestige" and pissing away hundreds a month at places like Equinox or KX. Plenty of gyms in The City, Mayfair or Canary Wharf for decent prices. If you're starting off in IB with brutal hours, your best options are The Gym and Pure Gym since they're open 24/7. The Gym is a bit like the Planet Fitness in the states, but slightly better. Pure Gym is a middle of the road gym. Would go for one of these two unless you can find time during "normal" hours to go someplace else.
KX and Equinox are not even in the same league lol. Equinox is mid-range runs about £200pm (similar to Third Space and other gyms of that caliber). This type of range is what most Analysts/ Assocs are probably after (personally would prefer Third Space because pools), with good spas for a massage every now and then, saunas and steam rooms, quality equipment, not too crowded, etc.
KX is in a different league, isn't membership there like £600/700 a month ?
Would advise to stay far away from places like Pure Gym, lol.
Agreed, it’s not even like chasing prestige like above said but typically PureGym and The Gyms are just full of young kids or gym hardos that i’m just at a place in my life now that just don’t want to be around that. Absolutely nothing to do with prestige
I don't disagree with this, but as a AN1 you aren't making insane money, so to piss away even 200 each month for a gym is ridiculous. Also, you're in IB. You literally don't have time for massages, using the sauna very often etc. You're mainly going to try and squeeze in a 45 min workout whenever you can. Places like PureGym will not be crowded or have annoying crowds in them at the times most bankers go (early morning or late at night).
