Looking for career advice for a 6-year old finance manager in a Corporate role

Hi all,

I am currently working in risk management (hedging) in oil industry in India. I have gained experience in middle office roles(var modeling, limits, isda) for about 3.5 years and from the last 2.5 years I am working in the front office trading (more hedging) on Oil and Natgas futures/ options/ swaps. Regarding my background I have a bachelors in comp science and mba in finance. Currently I am 30 years old. I use technical analysis and fundamental analysis in my trading decisions. Owing to strong interest in finance, I completed CFA, FRM and a certificate program in algorithm trading.

Given that we see lots of news that oil refining days are numbered with onslaught of Electric vehicles, i feel that a career switch might be good at this stage. I am strongly interested in trading especially algo trading. Do you think an MFE degree will help me make the switch into algorithmic trading or am I too old for that path. If i apply this year, I will graduate by 33 years of age. Any advice will be gladly appreciated.

regards
