Looks like RBS Interns Don't Know How Models and Bottles Works
I got this e-mail from while interning at RBS. It pretty hilarious. The only thing I changed is the kids name at the end. This was an after party for the end of the internship party. Fucking classic:
Subject: Friday 22nd RBS Interns
Hi everyone
Hope you had a good night on Friday
This is a message for everyone who went to fabric
Basically, I agreed to put a deposit of £1000 on my card to reserve the VIP area and to also sort out the extra discounted entry of £11 each (around £250 altogether) at the end. I did this because it would have worked out to around £45 each which everyone agreed was a great deal for a Friday night VIP area in Fabric with drinks and entry (entry usually £16). I then waited for some friends outside and everyone went down and, without me knowing, started a tab with the bar instead of paying for their own drinks to get up to the £1000. That was ok but people got drunk and left without paying or payed far too little and i've been left around £900 down!!
Only £250 was collected on the night out of the £1200 for VIP area, drinks and entry.
I accept that people were very drunk and also that, because of the tab, people didn't know how much the drinks actually are on a Friday night in Fabric. The prices are below
Bottles of Champagne - £70
Bottles of Vodka - £80 (or £6 a double)
Pitchers of Cocktail - £40 (or £5 a glass)
Bottles of Stella - £4.50
Cans of red bull - £3
I didn't order any of the drinks, but from what I saw, there was one bottle of champagne, around 6 bottles of vodka, 5 pitchers of cocktail, 6 cans of red bull, 20 bottles of Stella...and that was what I saw, I wasn't there the whole time.
Fabric are threatening to get the police involved and apparently have contacts in RBS from previous parties so I can't see any way out of this.
Please help me out guys I cant afford £900 on my own and I think you'll agree that this isn't fair. Try to remember what you drank and please be honest and get in touch with any questions.
Enjoy your last week,
Some poor guy who I sympathize with
Funny huh
Poor guy, are you going to chip in on your six bottles of vodka?
tool
Man, that's rough, but I say give the guy a break. He probably freaked out because he's not used to spending that kind of money in a night. Heck, I've never spent more than $1,000 on a night out myself (aside from at a casino but I ended up recovering most of my losses by the morning).
1000 pounds, so $2000. Fabric is a shit club anyways, why would you ever go there with your team? Last time I went there was during my uni years when I had no money and didn't mind mingling with the goth and the electro punks.
Poor guy though, I feel his pain. That's f...ed to leave him with a bill like that.
Remember, you will always be a salesman, no matter how fancy your title is. - My ex girlfriend
Only a douche wouldn't chip in based on what they drank.
im fairly sure I slept with her.
The douches are the guys who stiffed him on the bill. I hate people who do that.
I don't really see what's so hilarious...sounds like a kid did you all a solid by putting his card down to secure the spot and then people blew him off without paying. Anyone who does something like that is a douche bag, even if Fabric is shit.
Please tell me the girl in the pic is not supposed to be the "model" part of the "models and bottles" equation...
You don't think she is attractive?
Considering I posted this, and certainly did not include that picture. wtf
I didn't go to the club, just got the e-mail on monday. For me it was a mix of sympathy and thinking the guy is a dumbass. But i still felt bad for him
"Last time I went there was during my uni years when I had no money and didn't mind mingling with the goth and the electro punks."
did I mention this was RBS? we have no money.
I dont understand why this guy is being mocked. He put down his credit card and a bunch of people stiffed him. It's the OP that should be embarrassed that he went out to a shitty club, ran up a tab on a co-worker, and then didn't pay his share.
$2,000 is also a shit-ton of money for anyone, let alone an intern.
Given that clubbing in the UK is pretty different from in the States (you tend not to spend as much), it's a big deal, especially if he still has student loans etc. to pay off. I would never put that much stuff on my card personally.
im not evem sure i have a credit limit of $2,000. Poor guy...
I feel bad for the poor guy. He put down his card to ensure a spot for everyone, in the end everyone f'ed him over. People today are soooo inconsiderate.
the models are directly proportional to the bottles.
dont put your card down kids!
Lesson learned, I guess. I'm sure the people will pay eventually, but if he played his cards correctly from the beginning he probably could have even made a profit.
I agree with a lot of the posts. Seems like this kid got taken advantage of because he's the lowest one on the totem pole, and that's pretty messed up. I understand dumpin work on analysts having some harmless fun at their expense, but racking up a tab for ~5% of his annual net income and making him pay for it isn't even funny...it's just mean.
