Lower MM PE opportunity - exit opps?

Hey guys,

I currently have an opportunity for a job with a lower MM PE fund. My longer term goal is ultimately to be at a fundamental value or activist hedge fund (all equity space).

This lower MM PE fund focuses specifically on MBO's, family successions, and growth capital. Can I do a year or two here and make a successful transition to these HF's? Any tips?
