LSAT on Resume?
If I scored very highly on the LSAT (177-180), is it appropriate to put this on my resume when applying for consulting jobs? The test isn't technically related in any way, but consulting firms seem like they're big on standardized testing, and the skills the LSAT is supposed to be testing are the kinds that they say they look for.
yes, especially when you scored in the 99th percentile and because every section does relate to consulting/life. the LR and the games are based on your ability to think logically and critically and the reading comprehension section is important due to being able to absorb and retain info when doing due diligence. congrats on your score man
i had a hi lsat score like you and i put it on my resume. it didnt really help, and interviewers would always ask me why i didnt go to law school...and then i would crack a few lawyer jokes.
it might be different for consulting, they might appreciate it. my industry doesnt.
i don't think it would really help, since these people aren't familiar with what a high LSAT score is.
Also as mr1234 said...ppl will ask you why you didn't go to law school...so if you want to be asked that ...cuz you have a great response...than go for it...
I actually might put it down. Consulting firms don't just recruit from business school, the big ones look to other elite graduate programs as well. A 177-180 is good enough for any law school in the world, and I wouldn't be surprised if they offered to pay for your legal training in return for X number of years commitment after you get your JD.
Put it down. If not for anything else, the firms might have computers scan for standardized test scores and use it as a method of categorizing applicants.
Every firm I applied to asked what my LSAT was in the application. I think putting it on your resume also is ridiculous... in fact, that was a running joke amongst my law school friends along with student business cards.

Is it a faux pas to put an (excellent) LSAT score on a resume under exam scores alongside something like the SAT?
yea put that 142 down
ya id say its fine if its 172+
I'd also add percentile. Some people are not familiar with LSAT.
I remember there was a topic here on WSO and some analysts bashed GMAT on resumes because apparently not every HR person knows the difference between 710 and 760.
