LSE : Diploma VS MSc in Accounting and Finance

Hi everyone,

I am currently enrolled at EDHEC (french business school) for a Master in Management and I am going to the LSE next September for a double degree program (partnership between EDHEC & LSE).

I will be enrolled in the Diploma in Accounting and Finance, which is different from the Msc in Accounting and Finance.

I don't really understand the difference between the two programs except the fact that there are more courses available in the Msc and that I can pursue Msc after having completed the Diploma.

What do you think about getting only the Diploma ? Is it less "worthy" than a Msc ? Does it change something for the recruiters (for example IB or MBB) ?

Should I pursue with the Msc after getting the diploma ? (twice the cost though)

Thank you :)

A diploma is what people do if they don't have the background to get onto the MSc straight away.

Thus, it holds a lot less weight than an MSc. However, since it's a part of a double degree I'm sure it would be fine to have on a CV, but as a sub-component of EDHEC. If you want the MSc Finance qualification, then sure do it, but otherwise it probably isn't worth it since EDHEC is already well known.

OP should do the Msc if he has the chance. LSE is a lot more prestigious and targeted than EDHEC, so it would be a nice value add for him
