LSE MSc degrees for recruiting?

Hey guys,

I am only a freshman but this is for my friend who is a junior right now and wanted to know what you guys thought. Anyways, recruiting season was especially tough this year ( as many of you would attest to ) and he did not manage get past Superdays. Anyways he was thinking about doing a Masters in UK specifically in London School of Economics and Politics for a degree in Economic History or Economics or International Political Economy. He can get into the program for sure ( he talked to the recruiting team about his marks and they were very pleased) but do you think its a wise back-up plan?

I know LSE has great recruiting for undergrad but what about the MSc programs?

Would it be better to do it at another university like Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial etc. ?

Thanks guys!

LSE is the best. Oxbridge's MScs aren't as good. Imperial is probably the best choice if your friend did an engineering degree because they have specifically developed that programme for engineers (and so is the MBA). If he did a degree at LSE he would also have the opportunity to work part time at a hedge fund and network his ass off.

yeah, LSE is a good option (in my opinion), b/c you are in london (=> can network a lot) + often you can get an awesome part-time internship. Plus education would be more applied versus Oxbrdige.

Oxbridge on the other hand has a stronger reputation probably and is more "prestigious". That's my perception

If you want to work part time during school can't beat LSE. If you want to have th best experience of your life go to Oxford.

Every bank recruits on all three campuses. He should go to the one he likes and that makes sense.

Sorry for maybe going off track. But I am currently a junior majoring in Economics at UC Berkeley looking to go to LSE's MSc in Finance with Private Equity. Is this a good program to go into in terms of placing into PE shops in London or IB in London?
