Lukewarm follow up response?
What do you do when you follow up with a question with a banker from a campus presentation and their response was slow and lukewarm? Just move on? Also would any of you guys feel weird that the student didn't reply and only followed up again after a month?
New to networking so any help would be much appreciated.
dude if you have not responded in a month then i would say that this ship has sailed long time ago. imo
Honestly, it's probably sailed but there's literally no downside to checking in again and saying "thanks again for your help in answering my questions at the info session, I've got some questions about the process/job/your experiences/whatever, would you have 5-10 minutes to take out of your really busy schedule to hop on the phone pretty please?"
To be fair, he got a ton of emails after the presentation and was sending the same automated response to everyone. Sometimes you really stand out by jumping over that barrier, being persistent and emailing him again. Worst case scenario, he doesn't remember you, chuckles about the date, and deletes the email. Best case scenario, he comes back to the office, has nothing to do, talks to you and it gets you an interview, and then later a job. It can't hurt.
Thanks a lot for your help. I'll try to get in touch again.
