M&A in Frankfurt
I´m interested in M&A in Frankfurt. However, I don´t know which one to choose?
M&A at rödl & partner or TAS FSO Big4. Keep in mind that I´m a fresher in the US and that I want to spend my summer at home.

Career Resources
Rodl & Partner basically plays no role. They're a second tier auditing firm.
Go for the American banks / MMs / boutiques here.
.
HSBC in Germany is not really HSBC though.
It is 'Trinkaus & Burkhardt' acting under their name. And better nightlife (if so; don't underestimate Frankfurt) shouldn't be an argument - the financial hub in Germany is FFM, not Dusseldorf
.
I´m a freshman (meaning the 1st/2nd semester in germany) MM´s are out of my league.
Imho, don't waste your time with shops like Rodl, or mini German boutiques such as Markuspartners, C.H. Reynolds, Sigma and so on.
Do an internship in Audit (BIG 4) after your 2nd semester and then depending on your grades, you'll be able to score MM / EB offers relatively easy.
Edit: Just saw you attached Big 4 TAS too - if you get the chance, do it.
You should keep in mind though, that you'll need to speak German.
OP said that he wants to spend his summer "at home", so from that I assume he's from Frankfurt.
How is Audit seen at BB´s? And what about corporate m&a?
Audit is not regarded well. Not surprising, though
Unless you're in Europe
As you might have seen on LinkedIn, it is not uncommon to start the career with an Audit spot at a Big 4 - also if you want to land a spot at a BB.
Corporate M&A doesn't hurt either, but you should keep in mind that the company should have a remarkable brand.
Definitely go for Big 4 TAS. That's the usual way to go in Germany, after that you should be able to land some EB/BB internships which ideally you convert for a full time.
Echo this
Alantra
after semester 2: Big 4 Audit or TAS (better if you can get TAS) after semester 4: BB/EB and convert into FT offer
in case you do not manage to get that bb/eb internship after semester 4 you could aim for big 4 TAS or something comparable and then try to get BB/EB internship after you finished your bachelors. Many (not all) banks in Germany are somewhat flexible around start dates. In case you do not want to "sit around" (i.e. travel and enjoy life) for c.1/2 year (or however long you have to wait until you can start that FT position) you could think about doing a 1 year master's program.
Apply for TAS at Big 4 and use M&A at Boutiques as a backup. Audit (in summer) will be tough.
Hey guys,
I hope that you are doing good. Regarding this post I was wondering if you could share some thoughts about the go-to firms for m&a in Frankfurt apart form GS. Any thoughts on Rothschild, Evercore?
