Macquarie Final Round conflict

How does not being able to attend the Macquarie Coffee hour on superday due conflict with another interview hurt my chances? Is it reasonable to ask for either firm to reschedule?

To give you the details:

both interviews came on very short notice

I really like Macquarie, but canceling my final round with this Other company has far reaching implications

The Macquarie rep on the phone seemed to be very understanding, and put me on an earlier schedule upon hearing about the conflict

I heard that at the last Superday, coffee hour was at the same time as the decision meeting. Interpret as you will.

I don't want my absence to be interpreted as I don't care about the company enough. That's simply not true, this is the one bank where I liked just about everyone that I met. But at the same time, they can't expect me to put all my eggs in the same basket right?

I think you completely missed the insinuation. If the decision is made at the same time as you're schmoozing, do you think the schmoozing matters?
