Managing Expected Start Date as a Lateral

Hello,

I'm currently in the interview process at an EB as a lateral hire. After my modeling test / interview, I got an indication I would be invited for a superday. After the superday, the teams wants laterals to start around March 1. Unfortunately, my current group pays out bonuses later in the year. Last year (my only reference point) bonuses were paid out on May 30th. Needless to say, it would be difficult for me to leave before receiving my bonus (financially).

While I know I don't have the offer yet, should I mention this potential conflict (if you want to call it that) ahead of the super day, during the super day or, if I'm fortunate enough to receive an offer, try to hash it out with the HR/on boarding rep?

Seems I have the most leverage after I've received an offer, but I suspect they'll make the starting date crystal clear during the superday and not mentioning the (potential) conflict will reflect poorly on me.

Kindly request to push it and lay out your reasoning (moving cross-country, need to wrap up current job, need to find apartment)... maybe they'll be accommodating, and if not, then just rush it. Wouldn't hurt to ask and explain why you need more time - seems valid to me.
