Mandatory Back in Office... Bank Culture Gone to S**T... Morale Low

So I work at a MM shop in one of their offices in the Southeast (think Charlotte). Over the last few weeks, our group head has pressured people to go back into the office. Honestly loved my bank prior to all of this but I'm on the verge of quitting. I'd say 60% of the office is back abut none of the people I work with are in the office so I don't see the point of having to go. Social distancing is a one given that people are always hovering over people's desks. There is literally no tangible benefit to being back in when we can't see clients in person - everything feels so performative.. Plus, I work better from home (no distractions, can sleep more since I don't have to get ready in the mornings, and can cook rather than walking somewhere to get food). The rationale for getting people back into the office was to train the new analysts but I don't see why these guys can't learn remotely how our interns did.

Has anyone else been forced to go back into the office? I'm trying to figure out a way to weasel out of it as every moment I'm there I'm on the urge of a full blown anxiety attack as I hear everyone chatting about how they were out at bars and restaurants over the weekend. Maybe I'm paranoid and should suck it up if I want to keep my job but at this point, I don't want to work for a company that clearly doesn't prioritize the health of its employees. What should I do? I feel like bringing it up to HR is a death wish and I'm past the point of coming up with an excuse as to why I can't go in. Furthermore, if I were to say I have COVID, it's basically been made clear that I would take be at fault.
