Consultant will be responsible for the following:
• Management and oversight of research design, programming, and fielding (platform dependent on skillset);
• Output data in an SPSS data file, with custom banners and organizational structure as specified by Comcast; and
• The custom-built, Excel-based simulation tool, with layout and functionality as agreed upon by the parties prior to research fielding.
Consultant will assist in identifying an optimal offering and product foundation, sizing the potential consumer demand extant among segments. This task will be completed with the aid of discrete choice research, also commonly known as conjoint analysis.
Because the space central to this research is new and emerging, and because many respondents will lack purchase context or immediate awareness of the products in question, a highly photo-visual design is necessary to solicit response data that is reflective of the market.
Assuming the choice tasks are properly reflective of the purchase environment and framing effects surrounding buyers in market, conjoint can mathematically determine the value of the product attributes relative to price—since these data operate by the laws of conditional probability, these quantitative instruments provide a means of moving from probability statements about the outcome of market events to statements about how the market will work in the future, based on products and prices introduced by incumbent service providers in the market, as measured by utilities and coefficients derived from survey response data.
