Mars & Co Reputation and Exit Opp?
Considering an offer from Mars & co. People seem bright there and really cool to work with. Limited travel and being in suburb is a plus. Work seems very interesting and focused on high end strategy.
Those were my first hand impression so far, but was wondering what the industry perception was and what the exit opportunities looked like.
Hi ConsultingChimp111, check out these resources:
Fingers crossed that one of those helps you.
Considered by some as an 'EB' in consulting. They do place quite well to T2 or MBB and even some corporate roles. Reputation is good but they can be a bit of a 'sweatshop' at times.
Thanks, Pharma Guy.
Good to know on the exit options.
Any reason why it is considered as sweatshop?
I don't know specifically but I know they do a lot of big strategy projects (which take time) using lean teams and quite a bit of CDD (which from my experience at another firm, leads to long hours; easily 9am to 11pm when it comes to crunch time or the project has a short lifespan).
Good shop but I'm pretty sure you can't make Partner. If you're applying from UG and want to do something for a few years and then matriculate to b-school, it's a solid place. I've heard the people are pretty bright. Also, Greenwich is a great town to live in (busy enough that stuff is going on, close to Stamford which is a mid-size city and obviously at the doorstep of NYC).
Would expect Exit Opps to be in-line with other T2 Strategy shops (e.g., OW, LEK, etc.) but probably less plentiful with Mars is a pretty small shop.
