Masters Degree - Continental Europe
Hi
I have tried to look for similar discussions, but I have not found anything helpful enough. I want to find out about a masters degree in finance from SSE or St Gallen.
A bit about my background:
- My parents are immigrants from Eastern Europe. We moved to the United Kingdom when I was 17 years old.
- I am studying economics and finance at a non-target university - think top 25 - (I got an offer from two terrific and respected semi-target universities, but due to the financial situation, I had to stay and accept an offer from the city I have been living in.
- I am in my penultimate year with an accepted offer for a summer internship from an EB in my home country. I also did Summer Internship after my first year at the Corporate Banking Division of Citi bank.
- I am expected to graduate with a high 1st class honours degree (90%+)
I know that securing BB/EB IBD FTO offer will be tough with a degree from a non-target, so I decided to start looking for masters degree possibilities. The most important aspect for me would be the possibility of having fees covered due to being an EU citizen (SSE) or studying at the university with affordable fees (St Gallen). I have read on efinancialcareers that SSE and St Gallen are great schools with excellent placements in London. One of the most significant advantages for me about those schools is that I would be able to do a Summer Internship between the first and second year of my degree.
I will appreciate it if anyone could tell me a little more about those schools' other advantages and disadvantages. I am also open to recommendations for other target schools in Continental Europe that will meet my criteria - No fees or affordable fees.
Also applying to masters here. You should also have a look at those programs :
RSM Erasmus Master Finance
Copenhagen Business School ( CBS ) Master Advanced Economics and Finance
WU Vienna Quantitative Finance
With SSE and StGallen I think they are the best cheap options :). University in germany is also free.
I don’t know in what you want to specialize but for project / energy / commodity Finance TUM (Munich) offers a quite interesting degree called Management and Technology with a major in Finance (Hybrid Engineering and Management degree)
