UG GPA is part of the overall STATS part of your application.

So, WITHIN the STATS bucket:

  • A very impressive (740+, 760+) can make up for a relatively low UG GPA;

  • "alternative transcripts" such as certificate-granting online courses (best & most well-recognized option is the HBS Online's HbXCoRe online course, especially if it is awarded with High Honors) and/or a relevant transcript-granting Summer School Program (Chicago Booth SBSP, etc.).

Combining a robust online course with a summer school program would be ideal, and would therefore help strengthen the application and offset the low UG GPA. Now I understand perfectly it's not easy to do, given the associated costs, timing, and time, necessary to complete such demanding short-term programs/courses.

Now, apart from the STATS part of the application, the remaining two (2) are: - EXPERIENCE: Includes professional experience, leadership experiences, and EC activities. - RECS

And here, similarly, the overall Experience component of the application can balance a relatively average-to-lower Stats component.

Do your best to offset your not glorious GPA. There are many solutions to go around, as you can see.

Hope this helps. Best of luck with your app.
