Matlab for Fixed Income?
I am heading into a final round of a Fixed Income position for a boutique - feedback so far has been extremely positive.
They mentioned that they use MATLAB on the job along with Excel. I have never ever programmed or even touched MATLAB.
What are some of the best resources (books / tutorials) on how to program in MATLAB and use it to analyze fixed income instruments?
MATLAB is the BEST software to date, if you can use excel you will have no problem using MATLAB.
Are you sure? I am very good with Excel (like most people on this forum) but struggled with my programming courses in undergrad.
Are you familiar with C/C++ or Excel VBA?
If so, you'll be fine using MATLAB.

Yea, to be honest, it's sort of like a bloomberg terminal; you have to just try it out and play around with it to start getting comfortable (though even more user-friendly and quicker to get used to). I also don't see how/why they'd expect you to know this in an interview, and you'll be trained once you begin anyway, so don't sweat it.
