MBA vs. MSF for Investment Management
I know there is a lot of material regarding this on WSO but wanted to ask a question that is specific to my situation. I am currently a risk analyst on a commodity trading desk and I recently left a boutique IB for a number of reasons, about a year of WE and currently studying for CFA Level 2. I plan on getting a grad degree but unsure of what to get when it comes to MBA vs. MSF. I am very interested in Investment management and want to get into IB to hopefully transition to PE or HF, want to eventually get to a place where I am involved in investment decision making. Which degree would be best for this? I am only considering an MSF because from what I understand you can get into a top MSF program much sooner than a top MBA program and want to break in as soon as I can. Would love anyone's input or experience on the matter.
