Hi consultant 09,

to your questions:

  1. Revenues MBB BCG had $1,862MM revenues in 2006 (I've googled this quickly, if you invest 10 sec you'll prob also get a current number, alternatively just extrapolate at perhaps global GDP growth plus few %). McK doesn't publish revenues any longer so I'd just use a revenues/headcount multiple calculated for BCG and Bain and apply that to the McK headcount.

  2. Project revenues (this is for a strategy project, not sure about process/IT engagements, which also for MBB is a considerable chunk of their turnover) I'm not sure about MBB figures (I'm at one of their competitors) but you can assume the following set-up per day: Partner 5,000 EUR (if used at 100%, normally assigns say 20% capacity) Senior Manager 4,200 EUR (60% capacity) Junior Manager 3,600 EUR (100%) Excel Monkey 1 2,500 EUR (100%) Excel Monkey 2 2,500 EUR (100%)

Multiply by 5 days and 10 weeks and you've got yourself a price. Potentially discount by a few %. Expenses come on top, tax as well.

  1. Margins Could provide a relatively wide range but not sure how helpful. Thoughts anyone?

Hope this is a good start.

The standard quote you'll hear is 750k/month for 1/2 time partner, full time manager, one associate, one analyst + 20% for expenses.

In this economy, there will be VERY few full-rate projects. Most will be "on investment" which is a euphemism for discount. Also you'll be extremely lucky to charge 20%... most experienced customers will negotiate it down to 5-15 based on logistics.
