I'm a sophomore gunning for IB but also considering MC. Was wondering: - Why did you choose MC over others (unless MC has been the only goal for you) - How much your school name/networking matters - If MBB are open to international requiring visa sponsor after graduation - What's your plan after MBB (IB, PE, startups, etc)

I chose MC for ~three reasons
First, I actually enjoy the quality of the work. Problem solving for the world's largest businesses/organizations/institutions seems like a lot of fun-I enjoyed casing as much as I enjoy playing COD lol
The perks/ops/exit ops. Pay at the top firms is very attractive, they pay for grad school, there are opportunities to go international or work at another company for a stint, and it is seen as one of the most prestigious things to do post undergrad.
I have long term career goals of entrepreneurship, and I felt that MC would uniquely give me the opportunity to interact with, understand, and actively optimize businesses, all of which I believe will make me a better entrepreneur.
My school name definitely helped when it came to recruitment. As far as networking goes, of course it'll be useful. Network as much as possible, there is literally no downside to networking lol.
They are definitely open to sponsoring students.
As I said earlier^, I'm interested in entrepreneurship, but that being said, I think that I could be at my MBB doing M for a very long time-won't know until I actually start working though.
How did you prepare for the PST's/Math tests where you consistently scoring above 70% before taking the test? Which resources did you use to prepare? Thanks again.
Rocketblocks, MyConsultingCoach, WSO, and Reddit. I worked on my math every single day, several times a day, in as many ways as possible -I would randomly think "What 37% of 14B" while pouring bowls of cereal.
I worked on math/casing in general for around 1.5-2 months
What was your prep like? (live cases, etc.) And how did that compare to the style of cases seen in your interviews?
I did live cases with my peers who were also prepping, with friends and peers who were interns or worked at firms, as well as people from firms who I reached out to via Linkedin. Rocketblocks is also an awesome resource for casing, as they have an online forum where you can schedule casing with other hopefuls who have a subscription to the site.
Pretty similar to interviews. The one difference that I would highlight that I feel like often goes ignored, is that I was much more eager to display my personality during the actual interview. People greatly underestimate how much being yourself/friendly/humorous assist you during the interview.
Thanks for the response! What types of cases did you end up getting? (market entry, etc.) And was there an incline in difficulty in the cases as you progressed from 1st round to final?

OP, you should probably go into a little detail about e.g. your background, what you did to help you land your offer(s), why you chose the place you did, etc.

FYI, I'm a non-business major, I go to a semi target, and I chose my firm because of the culture-once you get to MBB, everything in regards to work/ops/exit ops is essentially the same. Culture is the main differentiator.
I spent 1.5-2 months prepping for interviews-casing 2-5 times a week, working on math almost everyday, and reading/re-reading all of the useful literature.
OP what city are you going to be in?
Does MBB CV differs from IBD one?
