I read McDonald's will benefit greatly from the weak dollar, how so? is it because of all of its international branches making money in foreign currencies that when translated to dollars increase profits?

That would be it. As opposed to Wendy's and all the other junk food shops in the US, McD's small at home yet the global leader abroad.

just like airlines are hit by oil prices in accordance with their hedging profiles
