Not sure if I want to go to McK or Bain (both NYC) as an experienced hire (have offers) at the Associate and Consultant levels respectively with an eye for partner. My main criteria are (1) sustainability and (2) quality of projects in my sector (which I won't mention here).
On one hand, more prestigious, generally best clients / projects, better F500 leadership exits, etc. On the other hand, it would be pretty chill to just become a DD jockey at Bain and sling DDs for fat margins year in and year out.
Also wondering if there is any general rule of thumb on lifestyle differences at these two firms. I heargrindy than Bain but that data point is from my friend who has never worked at either so I don't really know.
I'm really pretty much in a dead toss up here. It's just way too hard to evaluate "where do you like the people more" since consulting firms don't have culture (amorphous blobs of overachievers) and it really comes down to case by case project experiences.
