McKinsey Atlanta vs. Charlotte Office Size

Hello, does anyone have any knowledge/experience on how large these two offices are for McKinsey (Charlotte and Atlanta), is one significantly larger/smaller than the other? I am thinking of putting Charlotte as my #1 office preference but I am concerned if it is so small that they might only have 1 or 2 openings, while Atlanta may have 15 or 20. I want the best chance of getting in, balancing office sizes, as NY obviously has the most openings but it is harder to get in.

While you are more likely going to get staffed on local projects and industries from the Mckinsey office you are based there still would be an abundance of opportunities to get staffed on projects in Europe, West Coast, Asia etc. In that sense while Atlanta may be slightly better than Charlotte the decision should ultimately come down to which city you would like to live in the short term. In contrast Bain/BCG are highly office centric and >90 percent of the time you will get staffed on local projects and the respective industries, hence the importance of the office at Bain/BCG compared to McK

Volatility and it’s a miserable place to live. Hot as hell for most of the year (especially Houston), you aren’t near any nice cities, tons of riots & coronavirus right now, fewer high paying jobs, and there’s just very little to do. COL is low there for a reason.
