MD on Hinge

This is just a short rant/observation. I was sitting next to my MD in a client meeting this morning and he was on Hinge. We had a different client dinner on the books tonight and he just walked into my office to cancel citing he needed to pack for vacation (that his wife is already on). He's been divorced 3 times already. What the fuck???

A few years back we saw one of our married VPs go through  Ashley Madison. I don't think this is a big deal overall as long as they do this during their break. Is this morally questionable? Yes, sure. But you will only get into trouble for it if there is an impact on the firm directly. I.e. CEO betrays wife with secretary and those kind of situations. I have met several C level staff who were asked to leave that way.

But if someone is doing this on their free time.. their business really.

I think it's incredibly objectionable to behave that way. I would not go into business with someone that did things like this but absent a choice of who your MD is, you are stuck as this is none of your business.

if he wants to cancel client meetings for adultery, let him dig his own grave, you focus on being the best version of yourself. and most importantly, conduct your life as if your grandparents/parents were looking over your shoulder at what you're doing. if they'd find it moral and ethical, proceed, but this simple heuristic will keep you out of trouble, provided your parents/grandparents aren't objectionable themselves.
