Mechanical Keyboards - Too Loud??
Finally got myself a mechanical keyboard to complement my wfh setup. Absolutely love it so far, and I can’t believe how much better it feels to type on them vs regular keyboards. However, I am aware that mechanical keyboards can be very loud. Will this annoy others and be a problem in the office? Really want to buy another one for when I go back into the office but don’t want people getting annoyed at me...
Get MX cherry brown switches and you should be fine. Maybe even throw some 0.2 o rings if it’s still too loud.
I have MX cherry blues with 0.2 o rings and it’s very nice to type on
Agree with above — I use MX Cherry Browns and the noise level is reasonable without any dampeners on.
There are plenty of YT videos & write-ups comparing different switches. r/mechanicalkeyboards is a good resource.
get the rainbow backlit keys so the officebois know you're 2legit2quit
get Logitech tactile switch keyboards
DAS keyboard with cherry brown switches and you're golden
